You have reached the website of the world’s one and only Jennifer Keilp! Amazing as it sounds, in the entire civilized world there is no other Jennifer Keilp. I know this for a fact because I keep track of the entire Keilp family and I am the only Jennifer. What about other branches of the family, those living far away in other lands? Maybe there is another Jennifer Keilp among them? No, again. I know my Keilp family history. When my family entered this country through Ellis Island, the name Keilp was created on the spot to be their name. So there are no others: I am the one and only Jennifer Keilp.
I am also the worlds’ luckiest Jennifer Keilp. From the time I was a little girl I discovered that I loved to help people and I loved to be around animals.
Today in my career and personal life, I get to do both.
I am a Board Certified radiologist. I’m in private practice in Charleston, WVA where I work at Associated Radiologists, on Kanawha Blvd. My practice and skills encompass all aspects Diagnostic Radiology, including exciting new fields of Breast MRI and MRI guided interventions and biopsy, Coronary CT angiography (coronary CTA) and PET/CT fusion. Our practice works in association with a Level I Trauma Center - the major medical center in our region, and with several local hospitals, outpatient clinics and imaging centers. I also serve as clinical assistant faculty at West Viriginia School of Medicine where I teach and oversee the training of medical students and residents.
My husband is an attorney and also practices locally in the Charleston area. We have one daughter, Sloan Marie Smith - born 10/4/06. We all live on a 120-acre farm in the rugged, wooded hills of West VA with our entire furry family - 4 large dogs, 2 horses, and 2 cats.
My passion, besides my family and my work is horseback riding. I grew up endurance riding and riding competitive trail. Today I love to ride in the mountains and foxhunt. I am a member of the Rockbridge Hunt, a foxhunting club in Rockbridge County, Virginia. For me, foxhunting is a great excuse to run and jump my horses, and watch hounds work (our version should really be called “fox chasing” – our foxes go to covert, out run the hounds, or run out of the country before any harm can come to them). |
